Class of 1987 reunion on July the 6th
What a lovely gathering you initiated! Seeing you all in the Alumni Club House at the Mother School was great and I hope there will be more of these gatherings for all alumni.

Trip to Baskinta
The Baskinta trip that took place on the 5th of November was exceptional by all means. An amazing mix of alumni from different years, “school bus trip spirit” and hidden stories about the great Lebanese writer Mikhail Naimy conveyed by Dr. Zakieh Naimy, all made it worthwhile.
In Baskinta, our first stop was at the Naimys’ house, where Dr. Zakieh Naimy, the writer’s grandniece and the Arabic Program Manager at SABIS®, entertained us with nostalgic stories about the great writer, his books and study, the writers and philosophers he was inspired by, his first love and why he didn’t get married. Our second stop was at Chakhroub where we visited the summer house, the statue and the (opened) grave that stands amidst amazing surroundings; where the smell of pure air, the touch of warm sun rays and the sound of autumn leaves crackling under our feet gave all a feeling like no other.
Marching up to 1600 m above sea level, we reached our third stop, the cave where Naimy used to write his books, the masterpiece “The Book of Mirdad” in particular…The entire way there our special guide Dr. Zakieh Naimy generously recounted excerpts from his books.
After the long walk in nature, the group’s final stop was for tasty Lebanese food at Al Nahr Restaurant.
An enjoyable, cultural and fun trip… We wish you were there.

Alumni Visit To Leila C. Saad SABIS El-Maten
At a breathtaking location stands Leila C. Saad SABIS El- Maten School, a school completely free of charge.

All went on an exciting tour around the El- Maten campus guided by the School Director Dr. Zakie Naimy and the Acting Director Ms. Glenda Najem. The visitors were greatly impressed.
Rising above many challenges, the school today stands with 275 students. The dedicated staff hope they will soon reach the capacity of 900 students.
Everything in the school brings hope and happiness knowing that financially challenged students are able to gain such prestigious education free of charge.
Mr. Ralph Bistany then joined the group where all discussed the vision for education as well as difficulties faced during the founding of the Leila C. Saad SABIS school at El- Mtein
